Brenda Valle-Balderrama, Assistant Deputy Director of Quality Assurance and Reporting



Brenda Valle-Balderrama is the Assistant Deputy Director of Quality Assurance and Reporting in the Executive Programs Division. Brenda oversees CRD’s appeals process, reporting to federal agencies, and responses to public records requests, among other department functions.

Before joining CRD in 2015, Brenda represented workers in state and federal court in lawsuits against their employers. In those cases, she obtained significant monetary relief for her clients in several cases. In addition to representing plaintiffs in litigation, Brenda has volunteered at various legal non-profit organizations including Bet Tzedek, Legal Aid at Work (formerly Legal Aid Society – Employment Law Center), and Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, where she assisted many clients and obtained favorable results at settlement conferences and administrative hearings before the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement and the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board.

Brenda is passionate about the civil rights work she has done and continues to do at CRD. She received her undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles and her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Brenda is also a licensed attorney.
