Other Work, Housing, and Consumer Issues

The Civil Rights Department (CRD) investigates complaints of discrimination in employment, housing, business establishments, and state-funded programs and activities, as well as complaints of hate violence and human trafficking. California laws that CRD enforces include the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), Unruh Civil Rights Act, Disabled Persons Act, and Ralph Civil Rights Act. CRD has jurisdiction over private and public entities operating within California, including corporate entities, private sector contracts granted by the State of California, and all state departments and local governments.
