Denny Chan, Councilmember
Councilmember Indira J. Cameron-Banks is the founding attorney of Cameron Banks Law, A Prof. Corp., a boutique litigation and investigations firm in Beverly Hills, California. Prior to that, Councilmember Cameron-Banks served as the Los Angeles County-wide Director for the Preventing and Ending Homeless Project at the Inner City Law Center in 2020. She also served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the criminal and civil divisions of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California for over thirteen years between 2007 to 2020, including as the Chief of Financial Litigation and Special Counsel to the United States Attorney.
Councilmember Cameron-Banks began her legal career in 2003 as a Law Clerk for the Connecticut Superior Court and then practiced as an associate a law firm in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut until moving to Los Angeles, California. She earned a Juris Doctor from the Boston University School of Law in 2003 and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago in 1999.
Councilmember Cameron-Banks was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom on March 14, 2025, to serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring on December 31, 2028.
