Andrea Fernandez, Attorney Mediator

Andrea joined the CRD’s Dispute Resolution Division as a Senior Mediator in 2024. Prior to becoming a mediator, she was a civil rights attorney, litigating cases involving discrimination, harassment and retaliations brought against both public and private entities under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act and Unruh Act. Additionally, she handled class actions and complex litigation regarding unlawful working conditions and wage theft in both State and Federal Courts throughout California. She is constantly studying new developments in both state and federal civil rights laws, staying apprised of the everchanging legal landscape, and has successfully brought forth legal arguments regarding statutory interpretation in both the Ninth Circuit and California Courts of Appeal.

Over the past decade, Andrea has been involved in negotiating hundreds of settlements ranging from 4 to 8 figures. She has worked with top mediators throughout the State of California, learning a broad spectrum of mediation styles and approaches, continuously stocking her conflict resolution tool box and developing a fluid mediation style to help parties with diverse backgrounds and experiences reach amicable resolutions. She currently volunteers as a settlement officer for the Los Angeles Superior Court’s Resolve Law LA program, mediating employment matters often on the eve of trial. Andrea is the ultimate foodie and loves learning about people and culture through food.
