Steve Nash, Chief Information Officer



Steve joined CRD in 2020 as Chief Information Officer, where he is responsible for all aspects of information technology (IT) operations, projects, and infrastructure in support of the Department’s mission. Prior to joining CRD, Steve has served the state of California for 25 years, most recently as the Chief Enterprise Architect at the Franchise Tax Board (FTB). In that role, Steve was responsible for developing policies and standards to ensure the most efficient use of technology and to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives.

Steve has spent most of the past 25 years working on large projects at FTB including the Child Support Automation Project, Enterprise Data to Revenue Project, and AB 434 Implementation. Over the course of his career, Steve has led technology staff and managers over all aspects of Information Technology from Analysis and Development to Infrastructure and Operations.

Prior to joining CRD, Steve served for 18 years in Technology Management roles, and is a 2016 graduate of the CSUS Leadership for Government Executives Program. Steve is a 1997 graduate of CSU Sacramento where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. Steve enjoys volunteering with youth sports programs and has spent the past 10 years coaching baseball, soccer and football and has been the president of his local Little League program for the past 6 years.
