Siri Thanasombat, Assistant Chief Counsel

Siri serves as an Assistant Chief Counsel of the Legal Division for the California Civil Rights Department (CRD). Prior to joining the CRD, Siri served as a Trial Attorney for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) based in San Francisco and Los Angeles where she litigated numerous employment discrimination cases and multiple-claimant civil rights lawsuits on behalf of the federal agency.  Siri has over fifteen years of experience prosecuting systemic and class civil rights actions.

Siri serves as the Public Sector Co-Chair on various committees of the Labor and Employment Law Section for the American Bar Association. She also worked on child trafficking and migrant registration issues for the United Nations International Labour Organization (ILO) in Bangkok, Thailand. Siri also worked at the Asia Foundation in Taiwan while completing the National Security Education Program Boren Fellowship.

Siri is a graduate of New York University School of Law, where she was a Root Tilden Kern Fellow.  Siri received her B.A. in Sociology and Ethnic Studies at UC Berkeley and her Master’s degree in Public Affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.
