Rumie Vuong - Assistant Chief Counsel



Rumie Vuong serves as an Assistant Chief Counsel of the Legal Division for the California Civil Rights Department. Prior to joining the Civil Rights Department, she worked as a Senior Trial Attorney and Supervisory Trial Attorney at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). At the EEOC and in her time with the Civil Rights Department, Rumie has litigated and investigated numerous employment discrimination cases. Rumie has over a decade of experience prosecuting systemic and class civil rights actions. She has also conducted trainings and presentations on anti-discrimination statutes to groups in California, Hawaii and Guam. Prior to joining the EEOC, Rumie clerked in the Eastern District of California, Fresno Division. Rumie received her J.D. from UCLA School of Law and B.A. in History from UC Berkeley.
