Julia Parish, Deputy Director of Legislation, Regulation, and Policy

Julia Parish has been appointed Deputy Director of Legislation, Regulation, and Policy at the California Civil Rights Department. Julia joins us from Legal Aid at Work, where she has held multiple positions since 2011 working with families, people with disabilities and health conditions, and survivors of violence. She launched the Healthy Families Workplace Coalition to bring government, employers and community organizations together to support working families. She worked on multiple policy and implementation efforts on a local, state and federal level.
Julia received her J.D. from Berkeley Law at the University of California in 2011. She also received her B.A. in Political Science and Spanish from UC Berkeley, and she holds a master’s degree in teaching from Pace University. Before attending law school, she was a high school sports coach and Spanish teacher in New York City. She loves going to baseball games and hiking. Her favorite is exploring the Tahoe Rim Trail and jumping in the lake.
