Community Conflict Resolution Internship - The California Civil Rights Department is looking to fill an internship position in its Community Conflict Resolution Unit (CCRU) for the Spring 2025 semester. The mission of CCRU is to promote peaceful relations by assisting communities experiencing fear, conflict, or tensions relating to discriminatory practices, hate incidents, or hate crimes that have a community impact. This is an excellent opportunity for students in mediation and conflict resolution programs who have an interest in learning and gaining experience in how conflict resolution skills and services apply to government, law enforcement, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and community groups experiencing a community conflict. This unpaid position is 12 to 16 hours per week, mostly remote, with some opportunities to do work in-person on-site at locations experiencing conflict or requesting outreach services. Attorney (Part-Time) - Under direction of the Assistant Chief Counsel of the Dispute Resolution Division, with some review and authority, the Attorney facilitates communications between complainants and respondents to discuss their dispute and reach a mutually agreeable resolution. Fair Employment and Housing Consultant III (Specialist) - The California Civil Rights Department is looking to fill one Fair Employment and Housing Consultant III (Specialist) vacancy in our Enforcement Division – Employment Team 2. The incumbent performs a variety of tasks under general direction of the Staff Services Manager I or District Administrator (Staff Services Manager II) and may also receive direction from the Administrator II (Staff Services Manager III) or Deputy Directors. Staff Services Manager I - The California Civil Rights Department is looking to fill a Staff Services Manager I vacancy in the Enforcement Division – Employment Team 2. The Staff Services Manager I (Supervisor) (SSM I) performs a variety of tasks under the direction of the District Administrator (Staff Services Manager II/III) with minimal oversight and substantial authority; may also take direction from the Assistant Deputy Director of Employment. The SSM I serves as a representative of the Department and must exercise good judgment in all interactions with the public by conducting him/herself in an effective and professional manner.
